Description

For the setting up, running, and maintaining radio and television broadcast equipment for all areas of the ship.

 

HIS/HER RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Sets up and operates broadcast equipment for assigned programming.
Adjust the fidelity, brightness and contrast of video transmissions using video control consoles.
Align antennae with dishes to ensure clearest signal for transmission.
Monitor and adjust clarity, reliability and strength of signals.
Switches input / output sources as necessary.
Maintains a programming log.
Assists with the maintenance of broadcast equipment.
Communicates in a clear, concise and timely manner with Cruise Director and other departments.
Is on time for all set-ups, show call, meetings and work calls.
Maintains cleanliness and order in all sound areas
Participates in special events by assisting with video needs.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Cruise Director, Assistant Cruise Director, Stage Manager, and Audio Designer
Performs in a manner consistent with VOC’s Mission, Values and Vision, including a commitment to diversity and inclusion
Guest Excellence
Maintain, uphold and execute the Viking quality and Service Standards
Monitor guest satisfaction and report issues, concerns and suggestions
Reporting Line
Solid line: Report to the Cruise Director

 


Minimum experience and qualification requirements for position:

·        Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in technical theatre is preferred but not required. Equivalency of experience, training and education in video playback and projection systems will be considered in lieu of degree

·        Prefer previous ship experience

·        A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in which strong knowledge of computer systems (both hardware and software) for set-up and support of broadcasting have been applied

·        Commitment to Safety and Security programs

·        Well groomed

·        Understand guest needs

·        Time Management

·        Teamwork and good communication

·        Strong command of English

·        Reliable and pressure resistant

·        Proactive in upholding Viking standards of excellence

·        Enthusiastic crew member


Contract length: 6 months on/ 2 months off


Salary: 2500$
